Promoting Belonging during an ‘Epidemic of Loneliness’

During an epidemic of loneliness and isolation, Meisha Lamb-Bell asks, “What would it mean for every student to feel like they belong?” To answer that, she discusses the need to promote greater belonging and what role educators can play to address belonging in schools with particular emphasis on immigrant-origin students who face language and cultural barriers on top of the post-lockdown stressors, social media and political divisiveness.
