Birmingham Crematorium Opening Hours
We always recommend checking opening hours as they can be changed by the council, however as a guide:

March to October
The gardens are open 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
10.00am – 4.00pm on weekends and bank holidays.

November to February
The gardens are open 10.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

The office opening hours are 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Also open every fourth Saturday.

Free parking for 50 cars and 2x for disabled. When busy, when one service leaves, the next arrives, producing a frequent flow of cars. With separate entrance from the exit a one-way system is in place.

Access is from the main road, the A34 Walsall Road with a traffic light set controlling traffic north or south between Walsall and Birmingham, combined with Rocky Lane from Hamstead merging from the west. This means the entrance can be gained from all three directions.

Driving through the entrance posts, toilets and office are located to the right. The one-direction traffic flow goes past the crematorium chapel which is on the right. The inside lane nearest the chapel is intended only for the official funeral vehicles. Visitors must drive past the chapel to the car park found behind to the right. Exiting is back on to the Walsall road further up north opposite the shops and currently next to Selco builders merchant.


The funeral directors were Urwins for the majority of the footage seen here, with some clips from a Coop Central funeral service. We work extensively with funeral directors in these surrounding areas who trust our highly regarded skills and dependability. Notes-
The chapel can now provide an internet service (2024). However, it is a CCTV camera fixed to the inside back wall. It's very basic. Unlike what we provide, it won't 'zoom' in on the ministers head and shoulders; the minister will be a distant shadow. There certainly won't be multiple angles, views from the front, outside arrivals seen in this video short, or the gathering outside afterwards where we often capture the messages left attached to the floral arrangements.

That said, please don't be discouraged. We often recommend booking the crematorium's CCTV livestream as a way of assuring those wishing to watch a livestream a very basic way to do so. We'll nearly always have already filmed the church service, then the cortege sequence before we get tot the crematorium. So recording the crematorium service for us is just an extra service. So whilst we can also livestream, the greatest advantage is from our HD recordings subsequently edited into the whole film. In many cases we'll go on to attend the wake afterwards.

We can record with later editing, and livestream. These are TWO different elements to our service. Three services if you count photography. So the main two services are, 'Record and Edit' often with multiple discrete cameras and 'livestream'. Typically providing both at the same time.
