Here's the exact Febco 765-1 assembly I used: https://amzn.to/2M7PO7i
(affiliate link, no cost to you, see below!)

0:00 My Febco backflow preventer is cracked
1:00 Cut PVC pipes holding the backflow preventer
3:35 Attaching new PVC couplings and pipes
4:06 Apply Teflon tape to PVC male end
5:07 Screw PVC male into Febco backflow preventer
5:43 Repeat on the other Febco backflow preventer outlet
7:58 Gluing PVC with primer and PVC cement
9:04 Attaching a piece of PVC with primer and cement
12:03 Using PVC primer and cement to attach the backflow preventer
13:20 Testing for leaks

Apparently my backflow preventer got some water in it over the winter and when that water froze it cracked the bronze metal housing, causing it to leak. I had cut the broken backflow preventer valve off the existing PVC pipes, attach new PVC to slightly lengthen the available pipes and then install the new Febco 765-1 assembly in its place. In my case I was using 1" PVC pipes, but the general steps should be the same for most other PVC pipes and backflow preventer valves of any size.
