Must Try 44oz Tomahawk at Oscar's Steakhouse

Hi Guys, I think I have found my favourite steakhouse in Vegas!

Let me take you to Oscars's Steakhouse located inside the Plaza Hotel & Casino along Fremont Street. I decided to try this myself in my latest downtown Vegas adventure and came here with a mission to order the Tomahawk steak.

This is not your typical dimly lit steakhouse but rather the opposite. It is very bright with the glass window all around (from at least where I was seated at). I felt I was in one of those revolving restaurants where the exterior is visible at all angles. This is really nice at night when the downtown Vegas lights are at its best.

The meal started with the complimentary house bread and butter which was alright. Not the best that I have tried but not bad either. The bread has a little crunch on the outside and soft on the inside with a little sweetness on the crust.

I decided to also try the Roasted Bone Marrow ($16) which was served together with the crunchiest crostinis. This beef butter was so good that I could not stop myself from devouring it. But got to admit, after finishing the 3 large marrows, I felt a bit dizzy so not advisable to be consumed alone.

I was delighted when my medium rare 44oz Tomahawk steak finally arrived. The mere sight of this bad boy is exhilarating! It has the perfect char on the edges and has the juiciest and tastiest piece of meat. This is way better than many of the more expensive Las Vegas steakhouses that I have tried so far and at $140 USD, it is also one of the most wallet friendly if you are into large steaks. I would go back to downtown Vegas in a heartbeat... in fact I liked it a lot that I would eat here everyday if I can afford it! Definitely highly recommended if you are a steak lover. Btw, I also ordered the Bordelaise Sauce ($4) just to try it out which was a good complement for the steak but in my opinion, it does not need any sauces.

The wait staff were also good and I did not feel I was rushed into the meal. They were checking on me occasionally and were fast in refilling drinks.

This steakhouse is popular and I notice that it gets full towards the prime dinner hours so making a reservation is highly recommended.
