Our bus journey to Detroit kicked off with an informative guide sharing insights on the places and history en route. While absorbing the guide's narration, I gazed out the window, taking in the picturesque sights—homes, car shops, and more, painting a beautiful scene. Our path led us through Michigan towards Detroit.
Midway, the guide gave us all with $20 USD each for lunch at a fast-food joint, the money which was included in the travel fee. We reached the vibrant town of Kalamazoo, Michigan, where a variety of fast-food options awaited, from Burger King and Wendy's to other eateries and a quaint unknown shop. Across the street, a McDonald's beckoned.
Exiting the bus, we encountered a sizable puddle nearby. Each of us selected our preferred fast-food spot. Opting for Wendy’s, I savored their offerings for the first time. Ordering Dave’s Combo with a Dave’s Single Burger that include Ketchup, Mayonnaise, Mustard, Crinkle Cut Pickles, American Cheese Slice, Hamburger Patty, Lettuce, Sweet Onion and Tomato. All flavorful ensemble of toppings, along with Medium Natural-Cut Fries and a refillable Coca-Cola, the meal totaled $9.99 USD, excluding VAT. Amidst placing the order, my friend played a prank with a humorous pseudonym, leading to laughter when the server called it out.
After a brief wait, my meal arrived. Refreshing myself with a coke refill, we relished our food outdoors, chatting joyfully. Swiftly finishing up, we explored the shop, where my friend kindly surprised me with my favorite drink, Prime. As the group wrapped up their meals, parents signaled our return to the bus, marking the continuation of our journey towards Detroit.
