Welcome back to Guide with Samuel — today I’ll show you how to use Timeline View in Notion so you can plan projects faster and see your work over time.

Step-by-step:

Open your Notion database → click Add view → choose Timeline.

Select the date property that Timeline should use (start / end dates).

Add items: click + New or drag existing items onto the timeline.

Resize items to set start/end dates and drag to reschedule.

Group or color by a property (status, person, project) for clarity.

Use filters to show only what matters (by assignee, tag, or status).

Export or share: copy view link or add to a shared workspace.

Pro tip: Use a “Start” and “End” date property for multi-day tasks — this makes shifting the whole project simple.
