World Radiography Day (WRD) is celebrated on 8 November each year.
This day marks the anniversary of the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895.
He was a German mechanical engineer and physicist.
The main purpose of this day is to raise awareness about radiographic imaging and therapy.
Radiographic therapy plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
X-rays, MRI scans, etc. help in finding health-related problems by providing images.
World Radiography Day is celebrated globally by various national radiographers' associations and societies.
The first World Radiography Day was celebrated in 2012, with the European Society of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American College of Radiology coming together for the initiative.
The International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists has celebrated 8 November as World Radiography Day since 2007.
World Radiography Day is celebrated every year on November 8, marking the anniversary of the birth of X-rays. We’ve all had one done but we all take this marvelous technology for granted. It’s hard to imagine a world today where x-rays don’t exist. They’re the foundation of many medical diagnostic tools and help doctors discover a range of problems.
