In December 2021, I remember telling my dad I’d put an offer on my very first home. I was just casually looking, and this was only the third house I saw in person. Little did I know that 2.5 years later, I’d be saying goodbye to it. Moving to Prince Edward County has always been a dream of mine, but I never imagined it’d actually happen, especially so soon AND especially with my family and work in Belleville.⁠

This house meant so much more than just being a place to live; it symbolized years of dreaming and hoping for a space I could truly call my own. While I rented apartments and was fortunate enough to move back in with my parents before the pandemic, which I’m forever grateful for, I always carried the dream of having my own little corner of the world. A living room to make cozy, a bedroom to retreat to, and a kitchen to fill with love and warmth. It was a dream that kept me going, especially on those long days of making scrunchies. I still get emotional thinking about it, and I’ll never forget the day I showed my dad my first house and how excited, happy and proud he was of me.⁠

But this new home represents so much more than just a move—it’s the beginning of a new chapter for me, Jeff, and Bruce 🐶. We’re settling down in Jeff’s hometown, where he grew up, only 30 minutes away but in a town that feels entirely new to me. We get to live by the water, soaking in the sunsets, and start building new memories. I can’t wait to make this place ours. The best is truly yet to come. ✨🥰⁠
