Verkada Access Control - Part 15 (New UI, Alerts & APIs, supervised wiring)

Описание к видео Verkada Access Control - Part 15 (New UI, Alerts & APIs, supervised wiring)

In the fifteenth part of the Verkada Access Control Deep Dive, I am showcasing the new UI updates, that make it clearer when readers have wiring issues, and give better indications on door status. In addition, I'm discussing the new door unlock API endpoints, limiting Pass app sessions, and cross-device communication.

00:00 - Updates
00:58 - New door page & users with access
02:19 - Reader status
03:15 - Supervised wiring
04:15 - New alerts (lock battery, wires cut, tamper)
05:09 - Pass App session number limit
05:36 - Door unlock API
05:59 - Cross device communication

🗒️ Top takeaways:

➡️ New door page UI highlights better the door status, any issues such as DHO/DFO, and also reader wiring problems; readers also now display if their firmware is up to date

➡️ With supervised wiring, one can now get alerted in case any REX, DPI or AUX circuits are cut; new alerts also include wireless lock low battery & tamper (for AC12, AC42 - AC62 coming in summer 2024)

➡️ The number of concurrent Pass app sessions can now be limited, so stop users sharing their credentials with 3rd parties

➡️ New Door API endpoints allow for a 3rd party system to programatically open a door, making the integration with existing building management systems a possiblity

➡️ Controllers can now share information over the LAN and trigger door unlocks or outputs, even if the 3rd party devices are spread across controllers; this happens in the LAN over WebRTC ports (a random one chosen from 50,000 to 60,000) or via the cloud (if the LAN connectivity is not working)
