FirePro Fire Protection for Electrical Panels

Electrical fires account for up to 50% of all structural fires. FirePro presents two animated scenarios explaining how the fire suppression technology detects and extinguishes fires within electrical panel applications.

The first part demonstrates a standalone, remote application for the protection of a telecommunications’ landing station. Each electrical cabinet is protected with a mechanical FirePro Bulb Thermal Actuator (BTA) that performs the functions of fire detection and automatic activation of the fire extinguishing aerosol generator with the use of a bulb thermal sensor at a pre-selected temperature. The BTA can activate the FirePro condensed aerosol generator autonomously (no electrical power source is required).

The second part demonstrates an in-cabinet solution within a high-rise building office. The system is protected with a Linear Heat Detection (LHD) cable and a FirePro Controller. At the rated temperature the LHD sends a signal to the controller to switch off the fan and sends a signal to the Building Management System (BMS). It then activates the condensed aerosol generator to suppress the fire.
