Earlier, the two personalities appeared in public without their headscarves, as a sign of solidarity with the demonstrators. They had consistently been supporting protestors against the regressive and radicalized policies of the Iranian government. Additionally, the news about Iranian women protesting against the government has reached far and wide, with celebrities and artists announcing their support and solidarity. The protest against Hijab which began a few months ago, gained momentum in September 2022 when a 21-year-old female named Mahsa Amini died in the hospital supposedly, due to injuries and police brutality.
