Mingle Media TV and our Red Carpet Report host, Kaori Takee, were invited to the sixth annual Movies By Kids, For Kids Film Awards hosted by Kids in the Spotlight that showcases and awards select 10-minute films written by, casted by and starring foster teens.

This year's event was held at Fox Studios with Ty Burrell, TV Dad on ABC’s Modern Family serving as the emcee. Sponsors this year were 20th Century Fox, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Music is Unity, and founded by Earth, Wind and Fire front man, Philip Bailey, and CBS Studios.

About Kids in the Spotlight
Kids from the ages of 11 to 18 are trained for 10 weeks in the essentials of filmmaking using the Final Draft software and equipment used by professionals in the industry. The safe and creative environment fosters teamwork and discipline, resulting in a better self-image and a sense of accomplishment for kids who may not have the same opportunities as their peers. Kids in the Spotlight stimulates a greater belief in their ability to rise above social and economic conditions.
