Leukaemia | Michael's Story | Stand Up To Cancer

Описание к видео Leukaemia | Michael's Story | Stand Up To Cancer

Leukaemia is the 12th most common cancer in the UK, accounting for 3% of all new cancer cases.

Michael and Shannon had been married for just two months when Michael was told he had a form of leukaemia and may only have two weeks to live. Shannon was six months pregnant at the time. He was put on a clinical trial and initially responded well to treatment. Their daughter, Sophia, was born in December 2016, and in June 2017 Michael underwent a bone marrow transplant.

But despite seeing some improvements in 2018, Michael’s condition worsened and his organs began to shut down. He died on 11 September, aged 25. We Stand Up To Cancer with Shannon and Sophia, in memory of Michael.
