कांदा हे नाशवंत पीक आहे. त्याचं व्यवस्थापन चुकलं की, उत्पादकाला आर्थिक फटका बसतोच बसतो. त्यामुळे कांदा उत्पादकांची तर अनेकदा गोची होते. कांदा काढणीच्या वेळी मजूर वेळेवर मिळत नाही. त्यात पात खुडण्यासारख्या कामात वेळ आणि पैसा जातो. याच समस्येवर उपाय म्हणून कांदा पात कापणी करणारं यंत्र भारतीय फलोत्पादन संशोधन संस्थेने विकसित केलं आहे.


Onion is a perishable crop. If its management goes wrong, the producer gets hit financially. Because of this, onion producers often suffer. Labor is not available on time during onion harvest. It consumes time and money in the work like raking the leaves. Indian Horticulture Research Institute has developed an onion leaf harvesting machine as a solution to this problem.
