LIRA CITY EAST MP. JIMMY AKENA CLEANS LIRA CITY

The UPC party President also the Lira City East Legislature, Hon. Jimmy James Michael Akena has taken a lead in advocating the sanitation of Lira City.
Hon. Akena on Saturday hosted his colleagues under the umbrella of the Uganda Bikers Association Uganda, where they embarked on a cleanliness drive in key areas of the city emphasizing on the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining proper waste management practices.

Angella Ssemugutu the president of Uganda Bikers` Association says they have been visiting cities across the country and they realized that the cities has a lot of garbage and there is need for sensitization and partner with stake holders to ensure the cities are clean.

The Lira City mayor Sam Atul says the city council has already passed a policy on garbage management in the city where the garbage produces take responsibilities.
