How Russia stokes tensions in Gagauzia to win Moldova | DW News

European Union member states are currently discussing whether to open accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova. The European Commission announced last week that both countries have met the necessary requirements to begin these talks....

However, the process is far from straightforward. In Moldova, pro-Kremlin parties are actively working to prevent the country from joining the EU.

DW reporter Grzegorz Szymanowski visited the autonomous region of Gagauzia, where a pro-Russian governor is staging a fight with the pro-EU Moldovan government.
