What are Charity Cars?

Since 1996, Charity Cars has encouraged people to donate cars so that they can distribute those cars to people who need them. It is America’s #1 car donation charity and has been featured in major outlets including Good Morning America, Oprah and more. They’ve also won many awards, including the Walt Disney World Outstanding Community Service Award.

Since 1996, they have awarded more than 4,500 cars to those who need them. That’s almost 200 cars per year, on average! They are especially well-known for providing free cars for disabled veterans, victims of domestic violence, homeless families and victims of natural disasters.

How Qualifies for Free Cars?

In order to be eligible, you must be a US resident, age 18 or older, and have a valid driver’s license. You must not have any other reliable transportation and have an income that is 200% or less of the federal poverty level.

In order to get a free car, you will need to visit the organization’s website at FreeCharityCars.org. Once you’ve registered, you will also be expected to vote for others and promote the charity. It appears that you move up the waiting list as you get votes from other users.
