We are called amphibians
We can breathe right through our skins ! Land or water - count us in!
And some of us can make poison.

Frogs and newts and toads are in Salamanders, caecilians
Feel our cold and slimy skins Yes, we are all amphibians!

Which amphibian am I?
I can hop so very high!
I lay my eggs inside a pond -
Then baby tadpoles swim around You might hear me croaking at night As I catch insects flying by
What am I, sitting on my log?
That’s right, I am a frog!

I might look like a lizard, but
I am quite different, so I’m not!
My skin is shiny, gooey wet
Some people keep me as a pet
Might loose my leg in an attack -
But guess what? I can grow it back!
What could I be, now what’s your answer? That’s right, I am a salamander!

I don’t have legs, I’m like a worm If you see me, I’ll give a squirm What could I be, do you give in? That’s right - I’m a caecilian!
Are fish amphibians? Well, NO! They must be in water alone
That’s what sets us apart the most! Land or water - we live in both!
