On Dec. 16, 1995, Southwest DeKalb Panthers defeated Parkview Panthers 14-7 for the AAAA State Championship!

Parkview went up early in the first quarter with a 4-yard TD run for Brett Millican. Southwest tied the game on tailback Arvin Richard's 43-yard run moments before halftime. In the second half, Southwest made some key adjustments to keep Parkview's defense guessing with the mixing up of plays. The Southwest defense showed up big in the second half and keep Parkview from advancing.

The game remained tied mid-way through the 4th quarter. Then the mighty Southwest DeKalb Panthers drove 80 yards for a touchdown. The go ahead score came on a 14-yard run by Jerrold Dennis with 5:35 to go. On Parkview's next possesion, Terrence Trammell intercepted a pass from Muyres. Two 1st downs later, Quincy Carter was took a knee on 2 plays to run out the clock.

This Championship was for the School, the community, the coaches and the players!!
