Carving a spoon outside in the snow; Axe work and rough cuts- ASMR

Описание к видео Carving a spoon outside in the snow; Axe work and rough cuts- ASMR

Winter wood carving - Hand carved a small log from a fallen tree into a spoon blank. The tree was knocked down by a combination of wind and snow. I cut a piece of log from it and carved a spoon outdoors. This was my first time carving outside during winter. Temp was around 30F. The cold didn’t bother me as much. However, the quickly disappearing daylight made me carve a lot faster than I would have liked. Need to start earlier next time.

I try to get better each time I carve. With this carve, I learned the importance of a stable axe block. I stacked two spruce logs as a makeshift axe block. It wasn’t very stable and made me miss my axe block at home.

Thanks for watching.
