In Search of Peak District Heather | Higger Tor | Burbage Edge

It's that time of year again - when the moors turn purple with swathes of beautiful heather. So if you can, head up to the Peaks or anywhere else with a good showing while it's out! Hope you enjoy this short video of the lovely heather and the views,

On Sunday Sue and I headed to Owler Tor, Over Owler Tor, Higger Tor and Burbage Edge, with an out-and-back along Stanage Edge to soak up the best of the heather-clad views. Topped off with a much-needed refreshment stop at the excellent cafe on the Longshaw Estate.

We parked for free in one of two marked bays on the B6521 past Grindleford Station. If there's no space don't be tempted to park on the double yellow lines - we saw cars being ticketed!

If you're lucky there might be an ice cream van there too!
