Hey guys! 🦢🥀 In this video essay, I discuss the brilliant Indian director and artist, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I explore his unique style of filmmaking, and delve into his "hunger for beauty," that results in the captivating "Bhansali Aesthetic."

The " Bhansali Aesthetic" and Sanjay Leela Bhansali films have inspired so many on social media (and other Bollywood directors). In this video essay I also respond to the criticisms leveled at Bhansali by film reviewers of his work & aesthetic.

Thereafter, I consider some of the most grand costumes from his films (specifically focusing on his leading ladies), & I include some of the following outfits for discussion: the lavender lehenga worn by Aishawarya Rai in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, the "Ghoomar" outfit worn by Deepika Padukone in Padmavaat, and the majestic gold outfit worn by Deepika Padukone as Mastani in Bajirao Mastani ✨️
