Hero: Visualizing the Epic

In our newest video, Hero: Visualizing the Epic, we break down why the wuxia masterpiece was so ingenious in its design and storytelling by looking at the very word we used to describe it: epic.

This monumental undertaking of historical narratives uses observable choreography to connects fact, fiction, viewpoints and emotions to color, location, costumes and makeup.

What director Yimou Zhang, cinematographer Christopher Doyle and production designers Tingxaio Huo and Zhenshou Yi created with Hero was an epic visual catalog of interpretation and feelings.
