The approximately 10-kilometer hike on the Olive trail initially leads up to a high plateau and from there only down into the canyon.

Wear sturdy, preferably ankle-high hiking shoes, take enough drinks (2-3 liters) with you, pack sunscreen, allow around 4-5 hours for the hike, sure-footedness and a head for heights are required for the passage along the metal chains, condition for overcoming approx. 350 meters in altitude at the beginning of the trail, don't forget the camera, look out for animals and have fun :)
