Abbottabad is one of the major cities of Pakistan (KPK) and located 150 km North of Islamabad on KKH. It’s a hill station and an educational hub at 4200 feet height. It is linked through a motorway with the federal capital. Abbottabad is also a gateway to the Northern Areas (GB) of Pakistan.

It’s total population is more than 200,000. Abbottabad was founded and named after Major James Abbott in January 1853 as the headquarters of Hazara District during the British Raj. He remained the first Deputy Commissioner of the Hazara district from 1849 until April 1853. Major Abbott is noted for having written a poem titled "Abbottabad", before his return to Britain, in which he wrote of his fondness for the town and his sadness at having to leave it.
