Two Slow Dancers - MITSKI Dance Film

TWO SLOW DANCERS is a collaboration between filmmaker Ellie Gravitte and choreographer Adriana Pierce. In 2021, Pierce created the initiative #QueerTheBallet, which seeks to broaden the scope of classical ballet to authentically include lgbtq+ voices and narratives. Gravitte conceived of the video, based on Mitski’s song of the same name, about the cyclical nature of love and loss in New York City. It follows two lovers who, despite their dreaming, can’t seem to find their way back to one another. Featuring Remy Young and Sierra Armstrong of American Ballet Theater.
