ROCK Academy: *El Hoyazo* Garnet-rich Volcanic Dacite, SE-Spain

Here a sample from the famous El HOYAZO volcano in Southern Spain (near Almeria). The dacite is packed with crustal material ranging from beautiful red almandine and pyrope garnets to cordierites, biotite, sillimanite, and entire xenoliths of crustal derivation.
