DIANNE WIEST a legend within the business - a two time Oscar winner, two time Emmy winner, and if you grew up in the 80s and 90s, chances are, she was the soft spoken Mom in your favourite film - Ms Wiest sits down to discuss MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN, which will return for a second season sometime in the next year.

Wiest is of course known for her Academy Award winning role in BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, and her second win for HANNAH AND HER SISTERS. But as mentioned, she played 'the Mom' in so many iconic 80s and 90s films including FOOTLOOSE, THE LOST BOYS, EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, as well as hilarious and memorable roles in PARENTHOOD and THE BIRDCAGE.

Mayor of Kingstown follows the story of the McLusky family - power brokers tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry.

During the #Interview, Wiest talks about working with television deity Taylor Sheridan, filming in the co-creator Hugh Dillon's hometown, playing an angry character, and how the stage prepared her for modern day television.

#DianneWiest in #mayorofkingstown plays Miriam McLusky, angry matriarch of the McLusky boys who really run the prison town of Kingstown. Miriam is a college professor that volunteers to teach at the Kingstown Women's Prison. Wiest, playing opposite Jeremy Renner presents her typical motherly role in a much different way in this series, and Miriam is an angry, forward and often times forceful mother who is tired of her family's dark path.
