Be Transparent With Your People

Imagine for a minute that somebody came to work at your company and asked what it was like to work there. You were brutally honest with them and you said, “40 hours a week? No, you’re gonna work 60 hours a week. Managers are gonna take credit for your work, you’re gonna use technology that looks like it was designed in the 70s and 80s. You’re gonna be stuck commuting all the time.” If you were to be honest about what it’s like to work there, I really wonder if people would want to show up at your organization.

Transparency has become increasingly important. With social media and websites making it very transparent around what it’s like to work at your organization, you have to be open about the experience and environment.
