Micromax has launched Yu ACE, an affordable phone with price of Rs 5,999. It aims to compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5A.

DESIGN:
It is possible that by using glossy finish, Micromax is hoping to make the Yu Ace look like a premium phone. But the end result is not something that reflects the intent. The finish also makes the Yu Ace a fingerprint magnet and a device that is prone to scratches.

If you move beyond the thickness and glossy plastic, the Yu Ace seems like a pretty well-designed phone. Its screen, which measures 5.45 inches, The screen has a layer of 2.5D curved glass, which is nice to get in a phone that is this affordable. And there is a fingerprint sensor on the rear cover. It works well enough.

Its screen shows great colours, it will not be amiss to say that this is probably the best screen in a phone priced under Rs 7,000 or even Rs 8,000. The viewing angles too are good.
During my limited usage, I found the phone to be a little slow. the lag in the Yu Ace is noticeable.
The Yu Ace uses Android Oreo, which is still better than the Android Nougat aka Android 7 that so many phone makers are still putting in their budget smartphones.

The Yu Ace comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera, and an 5-megapixel front shooter.

The phone comes with a gigantic 4,000mAh battery. Overall, the Yu Ace is a fairly decent phone for its price. Design of the phone and the cameras are not the best but the quality of the Yu screen, its large battery, clean version of Android Oreo should mean you should take a look at it if you are trying to get a smartphone for less than Rs 7,000, and particularly so if you can't find the Xiaomi Redmi 5A or the Xiaomi Redmi 6A, which launched on September 5 in India, in stock.

Yu Ace will be available for Rs 5,999 in Charcoal Grey, Elektric Blue and Rose Gold colour variants starting September 6 in an open sale exclusively on Flipkart.
