Apple Blossom

Описание к видео Apple Blossom

Some people find this tune really annoying. I don’t. But you might. To be fair, I find it more annoying when I’m listening to it than when I’m playing it which is why I play it a lot. It’s a preemptive strike against someone else playing it. Pretty savvy. I know. And by the way, it’s called Apple Blossom and it’s today’s #texasstyletuesday breakdown. If you know anything about Texas style fiddling, you probably know at least this much - if you’re gonna play Apple Blossom, you’re gonna want to reference the Terry Morris version from the Touch of Texas album. I did do that. In case you were worried that I didn’t. Side note: I’m wearing our camp shirt from Fiddle Banjo Camp and @adamspickoftheday is wearing a sweatshirt he got when we went to Clifftop so I just want to clarify that while we appear to be subconsciously repping old time during (and thereby potentially undermining) Texas Style Tuesday, we love all the genres equally and it’s ok to do and play whatever moves you, no matter what shirt you’re wearing. On a technical note, this tune, unlike some others, seems to want to stick pretty close to an AABB format. I think that’s because the chord progressions are so drastically different from the A to B part that it needs a little structure to give your backup an easier go of it. They deserve a break now and then.
