Gold Leaf Gilding (Keum-Boo) on Silver Ring with Amazon's Cheapest, Dos & Don'ts

This one was my first appempt for Keum-boo, which is really cool technique from acient Korea with using of thin gold foil

"Keum-boo (also Geumbu, Kum-Boo or Kum-bu—Korean "attached gold") is an ancient Korean gilding technique used to apply thin sheets of gold to silver, to make silver-gilt. Traditionally, this technique is accomplished by first depleting a surface of sterling silver to bring up a thin layer of fine silver. Then 24 carat gold foil is applied with heat and pressure—mechanical gilding—to produce a permanent diffusion bond."

If heat can mechanically bond silver and gold together, I figured it would be natural for the same gold to bond together as well. I ended up layering several sheets of gold foil on top of each other, and I think it worked out better than I expected.
