The machine slowly revealed itself through the fog. Dense, heavy as if Crawler had never betrayed its purpose.
The Horde went far north. I followed its route for almost four days now. A bare earth with weird dots and sweeps on a sand and an occasional curve of a silver spring. This lands felt alien. No insects, no birds, no mammals.
Left unnoticed by its companions hours ago it stared aimlessly at the ground making no sound at all. Only interference. Glowing warning signs on the back of the beast was the only thing hinting its alive.
They weren't made to have an operator inside - all commands flew through a satellite swarm, or at least what left of it. Getting inside of a hacked one is a thougher task then fixing it. Their security systems won't waste an extra second for an intruder.
But it's the only way left. Repurpose it, make it useful. Make it obey me.
Then follow the Horde.
