Epic and Rare Burlington Northern Trio in 2024 + Bonus Train with a Prime 920 Horn! -BN Green-

The end of 2024 is proving to be FULL of surprises trackside! Somehow, a TRIO of former Burlington Northern units got put together, were working together out of Willmar, MN. I hadn't seen anything like this in YEARS! Who would have thought that nearly 30 years after the Burlington Northern merged away, you could still find trios of power like this.

We'll start off on the early morning hours, on a cold and chilly December morning at BNSF's Willmar Yard. The train we're after is the Marshall Local with ALL BN green power. Leading the way to Marshall will be BNSF 1940, followed by BNSF 2749, and BNSF 1940. The three veteran EMDs MOVED along the line. Even with the freeway hugging the tracks, this was a fast chase. We'll see this trio roaring by in run 8, screaming past, get some pace shots, and chasing it back to Willmar. BNSF 1687 still has its fouled Prime 920 horn, and we'll hear that blast along the way. Plenty of drone shots are also mixed in.

As a bonus, we'll see the 1687 running solos on an MOW train, and heading to Union Yard under the cover of a light snowfall.
