The Truth about League of Legends Addiction and How I Uninstalled after 12 Years

Hello, again! W1n5ton here! Welcome back to my channel and thank you for your patience and support, this video took a long time to make. In this video essay, I discuss League of Legends addiction and what makes video games in general addicting ( I reference Marc Leblanc's "8 Types of Fun in Video Games" essay), I discuss quitting League of Legends after 12 years, ahead of the problematic Riot Vanguard implementation, how I spent my last weeks playing my favorite game, ways in which I can still engage with League of Legends content without actively playing it (Lore, E-sports, Arcane 2), I show you how to uninstall the Riot Client, I discuss the backlash following Vanguard's release, with many players complaining about it bricking their PCs and Riot actively deleting all reddit posts claiming this, and lastly, I talk about Life after League and the future of my Youtube channel.

Quitting League after playing it for so many years was a really hard decision, and the withdrawals are real, but I firmly believe it was the right decision to make, since Riot wants to force an intrusive kernel-level program that runs on boot and 24/7 while also being 100% owned by Tencent.
