I teach you how to calculate your net worth in this video. You don’t need a special Net Worth Calculator to do this. Understanding your net worth is important, but it may seem intimidating if you’ve never done it before. It is paramount to calculate and track your net worth because it is the same as tracking a diet with calories in and calories out. I made an easy to understand outline of this video below:

WHAT IS NET WORTH?
Own vs. Owe. (Assets - Liabilities)
Tracking your Net Worth is a good measure of financial health and it drives better financial decisions
Tracking your food intake vs not (like a financial diet)
Calculating your net worth is Important because it drives you to increase your assets and decrease your liabilities

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR NET WORTH?
Make a list of all your assets
Checking, savings, 401k, cash, car.
Make a list of all your debts
Credit card balances, personal loans, student loans, mortgages, auto loans, etc.

WHAT IF MY NET WORTH IS NEGATIVE?
Young in life (student loans)
Middle Life (mortgage)
Overborrower (simply can’t stop spending)

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CALCULATE NET WORTH?
Some do it monthly
I recommend quarterly because not that many changes are happening so often
