"Anathema" (Extreme Demon) by nikroplays, ItsHybrid, Zipixbox & more | Geometry Dash 2.11

nikroplays asked me if I'd like to showcase this on the channel, and I decided to after watching it in full. There a lot of cool parts to this, at least visually. And, as you may know from "Iridescent" and "Quaoar", I'm quite fond of rainbow-colored levels. Before writing even more, though, I have to admit that I just found out this was a part of a series. Watching over the previous levels in the series, "Dedication", "Allegiance", and "Renevant", I have to admit that they're all showing their age now. However, they still have a certain charm to them.

This level definitely feels like a fitting follow-up and finale to the series. The level is the longest by far and a lot more ambitious visually. There are the aforementioned rainbow colors which cover a lot more of the level than the prequels, as well as way more detail overall. Of course, the latter requires a balance depending on who you ask, and I'd say a couple parts feature a tad bit too much detail personally. This can make it a little difficult to see what's going on the first time you watch. Since this is an Extreme Demon, players will practice a lot and overcome this quickly, but it's still worth mentioning. My personal favorite part is probably the one at 1:22 because the detail is nicely balanced (to me), the rainbow colors are very vibrant, and the background features a nice, big gradient that makes the foreground very easy to distinguish. Every part in this has qualities, though, whether it's in the block design, backgrounds, decorations, or colors. I'd say the team behind this did a good job. (I am a bit sad about Loltad's supposed part being gone after seeing pictures of it, but I'm sure they have good reasons for removing it!)

As I'm sure you may know better than me, this is extremely hard, and will most likely end up within the Top 20 of the Demonlist. With that in mind, I'm definitely not one to comment on the gameplay in particular. Let's hope it's enjoyable for the sake of rori, the verifier, and the people who may try to beat it when it's out (to the extent that levels can be enjoyable at this difficulty, at least). All in all, I'd expect this to be a Featured Extreme Demon. Finally, special thanks to nikroplays for asking me to showcase this!
