Article 15(3) carves out an exception, allowing the state to make special provisions for women and children. This means the state can enact laws and policies that specifically benefit women and children, even if they might appear discriminatory on the surface.
Women-specific laws in India have been instrumental in addressing systemic discrimination and ensuring protection against abuse. However, the potential for misuse of these laws has sparked critical debates, particularly in cases where allegations have been manipulated for personal gain.
