Scalloped Fretboard (Why I Like A Scalloped Guitar Neck)
Today we're talking scalloped necks. I talk you through why I like them, their pros and cons, and so on.
I remember when I got my first Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster. The scalloped neck felt really strange. But after a while it grew on me. Later I started having all the necks on my guitars scalloped. My 7-strings are still not scalloped for various reasons, which might be a reason why I rarely play them.
I've personally think it's a huge benefit to have a scalloped fretboard, especially when playing solos, but then that's a matter of taste. Should you try one? Maybe. Of course Yngwie is mentioned as well :)
