In February 2019, Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman shot down an F-16 fighter plane of Pakistani Air Force. He had a crash landing in Pakistan itself. Then due to fear of strict action from India, Pakistan returned Abhinandan. Abhinandan was awarded the Vir Chakra in 2019 for his bravery. Abhinandan was a wing commander at that time and was promoted as group captain in November 2021.The entire story from Abhinandan's crash landing to his return to India has been shared with ABP News by Ajay Bisaria, former High Commissioner of India to Pakistan. His book 'Anger Management: The Troubled Diplomatic Relationship Between India and Pakistan' has also come out, in which he has claimed that Pakistan was convinced that if it did not release Abhinandan, India would take strict action against him.
फरवरी 2019 में भारतीय वायुसेना के पायलट अभिनंदन वर्धमान ने पाकिस्तानी वायुसेना के एफ-16 लड़ाकू विमान को मार गिराया था. उनकी पाकिस्तान में ही क्रैश लैंडिंग हो गई थी. तब भारत से कड़ा एक्शन मिलने के खौफ के चलते पाकिस्तान ने अभिनंदन को वापस कर दिया था. अभिनंदन की बहादुरी के लिए 2019 में उन्हें वीर चक्र से नवाजा गया था. अभिनंदन उस समय विंग कमांडर थे और नवंबर 2021 में ग्रुप कैप्टन के रूप में उन्हें पदोन्नत किया गया था.अभिनंदन की क्रैश लैंडिंग से लेकर भारत वापसी तक की पूरी कहानी पाकिस्तान में भारत के पूर्व उच्चायुक्त अजय बिसारिया ने एबीपी न्यूज के साथ साझा की है. उनकी एक किताब 'Anger Management: The Troubled Diplomatic Relationship Between India and Pakistan' भी आई है, जिसमें उन्होंने दावा किया है कि पाकिस्तान को यकीन हो गया था कि अगर वह अभिनंदन को नहीं छोड़ेगा तो भारत उस पर कड़ी कार्रवाई कर देगा.
