Kobbie Mainoo's Contract Negotiations with Manchester United and Links to Chelsea:

Kobbie Mainoo is reportedly unhappy with the initial terms Manchester United offered for a new contract. His current deal expires in 2027 with an option to extend by a year, and there have been no developments on a new contract. This situation has put Chelsea on alert as a potential suitor if Mainoo decides to leave.

Chelsea are said to be leading the race for Mainoo's signature if he does not extend his contract with United. Mainoo's potential exit is seen as a significant concern for United fans, given his emergence as one of the club's most promising talents. However, there's no concrete progress towards a transfer to Chelsea yet, with the situation described as a stalemate in contract negotiations.

Manchester United's financial constraints, particularly related to Profit and Sustainability Rules, might force them to consider selling homegrown talents like Mainoo for pure profit. Despite this, Mainoo and another young star, Alejandro Garnacho, are not actively being pushed out by United, but offers will be considered.
