Candlemas with Rowan Williams

The Rt Revd Dr Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury and Master of Magdalene College Cambridge, gives a moving homily on what Candlemas can teach us today. On Tuesday 2 February 2016, Ely Cathedral celebrated the great Feast of Candlemas in a truly unique way. Stripped of all furnishings, the Cathedral was adorned with over 6000 candles and Ely Cathedral Choir sang a selection of Sacred Music.

Across thirteen centuries, people from all walks of life who have loved the Cathedral have contributed to its daily life and community. Today that community extends to the 250,000 visitors, including 10,000 schoolchildren, that we welcome every year. You are most welcome to come visit us.
