Robert Hooks and the legendary Cicely Tyson star as Nate and Priscilla Simmons, the heads of a middle-class Detroit family. When they learn that their grandmother, played by the talented Beah Richards, has limited time left, Nate and Priscilla decide to pack up their kids and travel down South. In the process, the Simmons family reconnects with their African-American roots, ultimately deciding to embrace a new life in their rural surroundings.
