From 1915 through the 1920s, a major cultural reform movement swept through China, climaxing with the anti-imperialist May 4th Movement of 1919. In part 4 of my series on Chinese communism, I'm looking into these reforms and a few of the most prominent figures behind them, as background to the beginning's of Chinese leftism.

Great overview of the movement. It's old, but very comprehensive.

"Beginning of the Great Revival" aka "The Founding of a Party" - (2011)
Tells the story of the founding of the CCP. I thought it was fun.

"Confucius" (2010) - I was a little worried it would throw people that Chow Yun-fat plays Confucius here after I've already pretty prominently used clips of him playing Yuan Shikai in "Beginning of the Great Revival". So this is me telling you, "Don't be confused, it's a different movie."

"A Doll's House" (1973)

"China: A Century of Revolution" - A bad documentary you can find on youtube. It has lots of good footage though.
