Experiment: Turn an M.2 Slot in to A PCIe Slot!

Описание к видео Experiment: Turn an M.2 Slot in to A PCIe Slot!

Small form factor builders are usually restricted to a single PCIe slot on their motherboards. If you have a need for a sound card, network card, or capture card, you're out of luck. Or are you?

If you're willing to sacrifice an M.2 slot in your board, you might be able to convert it to a normal PCIe 4X slot. You'll need a case that can accommodate the adapter and has space for the expansion card. The NR200P is very good for this, since it actually has 5 rear expansion ports that normally wouldn't be used at the same time.

I'm pretty sure this also requires the M.2 slot to support NVMe. A SATA only slot may not work. I haven't tested or checked.

I wasn't able to do this any way but putting the GPU in the vertical orientation and using the front M.2 slot; not the rear. It is certainly not a clean solution, but it does work.

As always, please try to support your local food banks, shelters, and churches that help the less fortunate in your area. We can use our money to buy cool things and also use it to lift up our brothers and sisters in need. If you do buy anything, I'd appreciate it if you use one of my Amazon links.

I'm considering moving all of my links to Amazon Smile St. Jude Children's Hospital links and signing up for Patreon instead. Let me know what you think.
