Fennovoima: Finland needs clean energy

In this video, Fennovoima’s experts are talking about the role of nuclear energy in off setting climate change. Fennovoima’s mission is to build Hanhikivi 1, a 1200 MW nuclear power plant in Northern Finland, to provide stable carbon-free energy.

During the construction phase, approximately 4,000 employees will be working at the site. Operational plant will employ about 500 people. Hanhikivi 1 has a strong local support – almost 73% of the Pyhäjoki residents are in favour of the project.

In Europe Finland is a leader in nuclear power. Other countries can use its expertise in NPPs operation and disposal of nuclear waste to decarbonize their energy.
