Which archeological site should you visit during your trip to Naples, Italy? We visit both sites, Pompeii and Herculaneum to show you the similarities and differences of these two UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Both Pompeii and Herculaneum offer visitors a glimpse at life in Ancient Rome, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Pompeii is more well known with over 3.5 million visitors per year, and includes multiple famous sites such as the forum, arena, and plaster casts of the bodies found here. Herculaneum is the more luxurious port city, where you can see a carbonized wooden boat and on-site museum with artifacts of jewelry found here.
