I recently had the most interesting tour of the Col. James M. Schoonmaker, a Great Lakes Freighter (now a museum) with a storied past that reaches back to 1911. But it wasn't just the tour that was so interesting; it came with a fascinating Edmund Fitzgerald twist. The Schoonmaker is located on the Maumee River in Toledo, Ohio at the National Museum of the Great Lakes.
