Beautiful Flowers, Plants & Trees At The Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh

Beginning in 1670, the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, Scotland, is not only one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world but also a centre for scientific research, conservation, and horticultural excellence.

The garden has the largest living collection of Chinese plants in cultivation outside China. There is also a meticulously manicured garden with plants from all over the world, including Chile and Japan.

The garden is home to the tallest tree in the United Kingdom, "Wellingtonia," which stands at an astonishing height of around 64 meters (210 feet) and has been thriving in the garden since 1853.

Unfortunately the glasshouses were closed and will remain so for a few years. There was still so much to see, including rare Himalayan blue poppies, which were one of the highlights. This was a very relaxing, peaceful walk and I highly recommend visiting.
