i cooked STEAK smothered in butter over an open flame | cozy campfire cooking

i could think of no better way to celebrate all the beautiful things my country stands for on this 4th of July than to get out into the woods with my two dogs, build a fire, and cook some steak. i basted with butter and flavored with rosemary and a healthy dose of salt and pepper. these were ribeyes, cooked more mid than rare (not my preference, i vote more rare than mid) and i let them rest drenched in butter for exactly 10 minutes because longer than that would've been unAmerican. i'm thankful for my country and i'm thankful for you!
